Industry appointments round-up: May 5-11

A round-up of key appointments from within the sports and events industries over the past week.

TickX, a UK-based search engine and discovery platform for events and attractions tickets, has named former PureGym marketing director Paul Kirwin as its first chief marketing officer. Kirwin will oversee all of the company’s marketing initiatives, including its expansion into Europe following its recent £3m investment round.

NBA basketball team the Milwaukee Bucks has appointed Robert Cordova as senior vice-president – chief technology officer, ahead of its move to a new arena, the Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center (WESC), later this year.

The Bucks also appointed Mathieu Gilman as vice-president of global business development, Charles Ransom as director of guest experience, Hilary Dickinson as communications manager, Nina Grimsic as talent acquisition manager, and T.J. Sagen as manager of live event programming for the WESC.

English Premier League football club Liverpool is seeking to fill a wide range of roles across several different departments at Anfield. Roles include bar and waiting staff, retail catering, chefs, tour guides, safety stewards and operational delivery staff. The club is holding weekly drop-in sessions every Wednesday from May 9 to June 13, between 3pm and 6pm, to provide people with a chance to find out more about the roles. London ticketing firm Spektrix has appointed Perry Dyball as its head of technical operations. Dyball will seek to ensure Spektrix’s user experience and application resilience keeps pace with the company’s growth across the UK, Ireland and North America. Dyball joins Spektrix from Seatwave.

NFL American football team the Cleveland Browns has appointed David Jenkins as its new chief operating officer. Jenkins has been with the team for 15 years and previously served as executive vice-president. The news comes with the Browns considering a redevelopment of its FirstEnergy Stadium home.
