Italian Serie A football club Crotone will not play its first home game of the season until September 18 as development work continues at its Stadio Ezio Scida home ground.
The 2016-17 Serie A season, which marks Crotone’s first in the top flight, got underway at the weekend, with the club suffering a 1-0 defeat at Bologna.
Crotone’s first scheduled home game of the season is this Sunday against Genoa, but the fixture will be played at Stadio Adriatico, the ground of fellow Serie A team Pescara, due to ongoing work at Stadio Ezio Scida.
Crotone’s ground has a capacity of just 9,500 and extensive upgrades are needed to ensure it meets Serie A standards.
Following the international break, Crotone will travel to Empoli on September 11 before hosting Palermo at Stadio Ezio Scida a week later.
